Open Casting Call Friday, June 13

OPEN CASTING CALL FOR PERCUSSIONISTS
for
FUERZA BRUTA WAYRA in NEW YORK CITY

 First there was De La Guarda,
                                               then there was Fuerza Bruta…
                                                                                            NOW there is WAYRA!


WAYRA audiences and Fuerza Bruta fans will see a larger-than-life show that has been updated with innovative and new heart-stopping scenes.

An extension of the Fuerza Bruta family which has been at the Daryl Roth Theatre for 13 years, WAYRA takes the audience on a thrill ride from beginning to end, with fast paced and upbeat live music, on-stage musicians and breathtaking aerial displays.


OPEN CALL AUDITION SEEKING:
DRUMMER (male, any age/ethnicity) A drummer/percussionist who can play a tambora/bombo leguero/surdo type drum. Role includes tribal singing/chanting. Must have the aptitude to speak some Spanish. WHEN AND WHERE
11:30am – 1:30pm on Friday, June 13th at The Drummers Collective
(541 6th Avenue, just north of W 14th Street, New York City). SIGN-IN WILL END AT 1PM.


WHAT TO PREPARE: 
Nothing! Our WAYRA team will teach a short combination of drumming and singing (from the video link above).

WAYRA begins rehearsals on/after June 19th in New York City. The production will open at the Daryl Roth Theatre in Union Square on July 8th, and it is an open-ended run. The salary is $700 per week on a non-jurisdictional contract.

Please note: This percussionist performs at the beginning of the show for 2-3 minutes and at the end of the show for 2-3 minutes.
